These are just some of the posts about middle-grade reads from the Your Kid’s Next Read Facebook community.

In fact, requests for and recommendations of middle-grade novels make up a good proportion of chat in the group, which is no surprise when you consider that around 40 per cent of respondents in our last* community survey have young readers aged 10-13.

Recently, however, we’ve noticed a new category for middle-grade requests beginning to emerge.

Specifically requests for ‘shorter’ middle-grade novels.
